The SPHO-NJ Welcomes New Directors to the Board

Welcoming two new directors this year, (Vice President Colleen Nolan-Tran, and Secretary/Treasurer Debra McCluskey), the SPHO-NJ Board of Directors is excited to serve the organization in another outstanding competition year.

With a focus on making Standardbred education accessible to all, Colleen has created a Standardbred retraining YouTube series, hosted Standardbred dressage clinics and promoted life-after-racing at major events like the Horse World Expo and Equine Affaire. She actively competes in dressage, highlighting the breed's potential in sport horse disciplines. Colleen works to provide resources and support for those seeking to understand and work with this often-misunderstood breed, helping to ensure their success beyond the racetrack.

Having been involved in the industry for over 40 years, racing in many states as well as Canada, and showing periodically (when not managing horse shows), Debra is a lifelong Standardbred fan. When not caring for the numerous animals and current Standardbred, Bill, on her farm, Debra’s main job is handling the finances for several agricultural education related organizations.
