SPHO-NJ Announces Interim Board of Directors for 2023 Competition Year

As many have been made aware, we are sad to share that Rob Pennington will be vacating his seat as points secretary after the February 26, 2023 Year-End Awards Banquet. Rob has served as on the SPHO-NJ Board of Directors since 2007, contributing to major growth and evolution of the organization over the 15 years. As the Points Secretary, Rob managed all year-end awards, from the point totaling all the way through the banquet celebration. Those who know Rob know that his duties did not end there, as he has been the backbone behind the National Standardbred Horse Show for many years now, embedding his heart dedication in every event he has been a part of. While Rob is taking a step back from the board, he will forever be a part of the SPHO-NJ family. On behalf of the SPHO-NJ, we extend our immense gratitude, respect, and thanks to Rob for everything he has contributed to the organization, for his friendship and contagious smile, and for the fun that we have all shared promoting this fantastic breed. We look forward to celebrating his next chapter in February at the Year-End Awards Banquet.

As the SPHO-NJ is in a transition phase, we are pleased to announce an interim Board of Directors for the 2023 competition year, spanning from November 1, 2022, through October 31, 2023.

As mentioned above, the interim Board of Directors will serve through October 31, 2023. Board seat nominations for the 2024 competition year will be open between August 1-25, 2023. Elections for nominees will be held between September 1-30, 2023. Election results will be announced October 1, 2023, with the new Board of Directors taking effect November 1, 2023. All nominations, elections, and announcements will take place on the new SPHONJ.org website and reminders will be shared on social media as we approach the respective dates.
